SVGI – “General Juan Manuel Valdez” Airport

General Juan Manuel Valdez Airport, formerly known as Almirante Cristóbal Colón Airport, (IATA: GUI, ICAO: SVGI) is a Venezuelan airport located in Güiria, Sucre State. It was inaugurated on October 12, 2000 by President Hugo Chávez. On January 26, 2010, the Bolivarian Airports Corporation (BAER) took over the administration of Güiria airport.
The Guiria non-directional beacon (Ident: GUI) is located on the field.
The airport of Guiria dates from many years before Chávez, it was from this government that it was finished like everything else that has been destroyed in Venezuela.
