General Bartolomé Salom Airport (IATA: PBL, ICAO: SVPC) is a Venezuelan airport located in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state. It is named after the independence general Bartolomé Salom and for many years had the status of an international airport.
It was inaugurated in 1953 by the government of Marcos Pérez Jiménez as an alternative airport to the Maiquetía terminal and began operating as an international terminal on December 12, 1967, by decree of President Raúl Leoni.
On November 23, 1973, the Venezuelan Navy was installed in the airport premises with 6 new Grumman Trackers S2-E air units, forming the AS-10 Anti-submarine Air-Sea Squadron, which remains to this day.
